How to Crochet the Slanted Shell Stitch Photo Tutorial

I love the slanted honeycomb texture in this easy to work Slanted Shell Stitch crochet pattern!
Crochet shells are pretty crochet stitch patterns that vary depending on if the desired outcome is a lacy look or textured. This Slanted Shell Stitch crochet pattern is all about texture!
These shells would look pretty in a variety of crochet pattern. They are simply created by working double crochet and chain stitches. In the alternating rows you’ll work front post double crochet stitches that really make the shells pop!
The other beauty in this design is in its simplicity. This pattern in a one row repeat!

Instrustions
To begin, make a slip knot and make a foundation chain. For this stitch, you will need a multiple of five stitches for your foundation chain, plus three (5+3). For example, ch 33.
Row One: Sc in the 2nd ch from your hook and in each st across. Ch 1, turn.
Row Two: Dc in the 1st st, sk the next 2 sts, *[3 dc, ch 1, dc] in the next st, sk the next 4 sts; Rpt from * across to the final 3 sts, sk the next 2 sts, dc in the final st. Ch 1, turn.
Row Three: Dc in the 1st st, *fpdc around the post of the next st, [3 dc, ch 1, dc] in the next ch-1 sp, sk the next 3 sts; Rpt from * across, dc in the final st. Ch 1, turn.
Row Four: Dc in the 1st st, *fpdc around the post of the next st, [3 dc, ch 1, dc] in the next ch-1 sp, sk the next 4 sts; Rpt from * across, dc in the final st. Ch 1, turn.
And that’s it!
For the rest of the pattern, simply repeat row 4. Fasten off, weave in your ends.
