Materials

  • 4.0-mm (G/6 USA, 8 UK) Hook
  • Fingering Weight (1 Fine) Yarn. I used Comfy Fingering Weight yarn by KnitPicks in the color Honey.
  • Tapestry Needle

  • Sc – Single Crochet
  • Sk – Skip
  • Sl St – Slip Stitch
  • St – Stitch
  • Tr – Treble Crochet
  • WS – Wrong Side
  • Yo – Yarn over

Instructions

For this stitch, you will need a number of sts that is multiple of 4, plus 1.

For this tutorial, I am going to use 7*4 = 28 +1 = 29 sts

Row 1. FDC 29, or ch 31 and dc 29 starting from the third ch from your hook. (29 dc)

Row 2. Ch-less dc, (ch 1, sk 1, dc 1) 14 times. (15 dc, 14 ch-1 spaces)

Row 3. Ch-less dc, dc in each st across. (29 dc)

Row 4-5. Repeat rows 2-3.

Row 6

Ch-less tr, ch 4, sk 1, sl st into next st. *Ch 1, turn. Sc 1 in the first ch, hdc 1, dc 1, tr 1, ch 5, turn. Sk 3 sts from the previous row, sl st into next st. Repeat from * 6 times. Ch 1, turn. Sc 1 in the first ch, hdc 1, dc 1, tr 1. Without any additional ch, turn, sk 1, tr 1 into last st. (7 cones, 6 ch-1 spaces, 2 tr)

Row 7

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc 1 in the first tr, (ch 4, sc 1 in next ch-1 space) 6 times. Ch 4, sc in last st. (7 ch-4 spaces, 8 sc)

Row 8

Ch-less dc, dc 3 in first ch-4 space, (ch 1, dc 3 in next ch-4 space) 6 times, dc in last st. (23 dc, 6 ch-1 spaces)

Row 9

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc 1 in first dc, (ch 6, sc 1 in the third ch from your hook, hdc 1, dc 1, tr 1. Sc 1 in next ch-1 space) 6 times. Ch 6, sc 1 in the third ch from your hook, hdc 1, dc 1, tr 1, sc in last st. (7 triangles, 8 sc)

Row 10

Ch-less tr, ch 1, (sc 1 in the ch-2 space at the top of the next triangle, ch 3) 6 times. Sc 1 in the ch-2 space at the top of the last triangle, ch 1, tr 1 in last st. (6 ch-3 spaces, 2 ch-1 spaces, 7 sc, 2 tr)

Row 11

Ch-less dc, dc 1 in the first ch-1 space, (dc 1 in next sc, dc 3 in next ch-3 space) 6 times. Dc 1 in next sc, dc 1 in last ch-1 space, dc 1 in the last st. (29 dc)

Rows 12-15. Repeat rows 2-3 twice.
