- Paintbox Cotton Aran in Melon Sorbet (Color A), Blood Orange (Color B) & Red Wine (Color C)
- Size H (5.0 mm) Clover Crochet hook
Abbreviations
- yo = yarn over
- st = stitch
- ch = chain
- sc = single crochet
- dc = double crochet
- sk = skip
Special Stitches
Leaf stitch: (yo, insert hook in indicated st, pull up a loop) twice, yo, pull through 4 loops on hook, yo and pull through last 2 loops on hook.
Instructions
This stitch is worked in multiples of 4 + 1 + 1
Sample is worked with a foundation chain of 26 (4 x 6 = 24 + 1 = 25 + 1 = 26)
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch to end. Turn. (25)
Row 2: ch 1, sc in same st at base of ch 1 and in each st to end. Turn.
Row 3: ch 3 (counts as 1st st), dc in next 3 st,
*1 leaf st (see special stitches section) around the sc post st from 2 rows below,
sk next st in current row, dc in next 3 st,* repeat between * * to last st, dc in last st. Turn.
Row 4: repeat row 2.
Row 5: ch 3, dc in next st, *1 leaf st around the dc post st from 2 rows below, sk next st in current row, dc in next 3 st,* repeat between * * to last 3 st, 1 leaf st around dc post st from 2 rows below, sk next st in current row, dc in last 2 st. Turn.
Row 6: repeat row 2.
Row 7: ch 3, dc in next 3 st, *1 leaf st (see special stitches section) around the dc post st from 2 rows below, sk next st in current row, dc in next 3 st,* repeat between * * to last st, dc in last st. Turn.
Row 8: repeat row 2.
Repeat rows 5 – 8 to desired size.
Fasten off.
