Instructions

Row 1

1. Start by chaining a multiple of three plus two. You will start working in the second chain from your hook.

2. So, make a single crochet in the second chain from your hook.

3. Chain two.

4. Skip two stitches and make a single crochet in the next stitch.

5. Then repeat. Chain two, skip two stitches and make a single crochet in the next stitch.

6. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

7. Chain eight and turn your work around. Next you will make a slip stitch working in the fourth chain from your hook.

Row 2

8. So, insert your hook in the fourth chain from your hook.

9. Yarn over.

10. Pull the yarn through. Now you have two loops on your hook.

11. Pull the first loop through the second one. You have just made a slip stitch and completed a picot.

12. Make a double crochet in the next single crochet.

13. Chain five.

14. Make a slip stitch working in the fourth chain from your hook.

15. Make a double crochet in the next single crochet.

16. Then repeat. Chain five.

17. Make a slip stitch in the fourth chain from your hook.

18. Make a double crochet in the next single crochet.

19. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row. The row should end with a double crochet made in the last stitch.

20. Chain one and turn your work around. Chain one does not count as a stitch.

21. Make a single crochet in the first stitch.

22. Chain two.

23. Make a single crochet in the next double crochet.

24. Then repeat. Chain two.

25. Make a single crochet in the next double crochet.

26. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

27. At the end of the row chain two as usual.

28. Then make the last single crochet in the third chain of the turning chain.
