Materials
- Marriner Yarns Super Chunky in dark brown, yellow, cream, and orange
- 9mm crochet hook
Abbreviations
- bo – regular bobble stitch
- ch – chain
- dc – double crochet
- yo- yarn over
Special Stitches
Bobble Stitch (bo) - yo, insert hook into chain, yo and pull through a loop (you have 3 loops on your hook), yo and pull through 2 loops (you have 2 loops on your hook).
Repeat this step 4 more times in the same chain (you will have 6 loops on your hook), yo, and pull through all 6 loops.
Notes
- Ch3 at the beginning of each row counts as a dc.
- To begin, chain 25 or any multiples of 8 + 1 chains.
Instructions
With brown
Row 1: dc in 4th chain and across, turn.
Row 2: bring the cream yarn along (lay it along the row of chains and crochet with dark brown over it), ch3, 2dc.
Change colors to cream, bo, on the final step of completing the bobble, change to dark brown, yo, and pull through all 6 loops on the hook to complete the bobble.
Continue with dark brown and make 7dc bringing the cream along to the next bobble.
*Change to cream, bo, change back to dark brown on the last step of the bobble, 7dc bringing the cream yarn along*, if your chain is longer than 25, then repeat ** until you have 4 stitches left. Change colors to cream, bo, change back to dark brown on the last step and make 3dc, turn and cut the cream yarn leaving a tail.
Row 3: continue with dark brown, ch3, dc in the next stitch and each stitch across, turn
Row 4: bring the yellow yarn along by crocheting with dark brown over it, ch3, 6dc.
*Change to yellow, bo, change back to dark brown on the last step of making the bobble, 7dc, bringing the yellow yarn over*, if your chain us longer than 25, repeat ** until the end of your row, turn and cut the yellow yarn leaving a tail.
Row 5: ch3, dc in the following stitch and each stitch across.
Repeat rows 2 – 5, using any color you like for the bobbles until you have the desired length.
