How to Crochet Parallel Lines Crochet Stitch
The parallel lines crochet stitch is a great introduction to front post crochet stitches. Straight lines of front post treble crochets are worked in sequence on a background of half double crochet stitches.
I think this stitch would make a lovely chunky throw, baby blanket or scarf crochet project! The raised stitches create a lot of vertical interest in this stitch pattern.
Another fun idea for this stitch would be to make a bunch of squares and join them so they look like a basketweave pattern.

How to Crochet the Parallel Lines Crochet Stitch
Row 1: Hdc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 1, hdc in same st as ch 1 and each st across. Turn.
Row 3: Ch 1, hdc in same st as ch 1 and next 2 sts,
Fptr around next 2 sts 2 rows below.
*Hdc 2, fptr around next st 2 rows below, hdc 2, fptr around next 2 sts 2 rows below. Repeat from * across until 3 sts remain. Hdc in last 3. Turn.
Row 4: repeat row 2
Row 5: Ch 1, hdc in same st in ch 1 and next 2 sts.
Fptr around next 2 fptr. *Hdc in next 2, fptr around next fptr, hdc 2, fptr around next 2 fptr. Repeat from * across until 3 sts remain. Hdc in last 3. Turn.
Repeat rows 4 & 5 for pattern.
