Crochet Rice Stitch

The Rice Stitch is a simple yet charming crochet pattern that utilizes half-double crochet (hdc) and a few double crochet (dc) variations to create a delightful bumpy texture in your fabric.

This pattern is incredibly beginner-friendly, making it an excellent choice for those who are new to crochet and wish to craft a cozy blanket with a visually appealing texture.

In addition to blankets, the Rice Stitch is well-suited for crafting cardigans, shawls, and various wearables that demand a warm and solid fabric.

Below, you'll find detailed step-by-step written instructions, accompanied by helpful photos to guide you through the process. Happy crocheting!

Instructions

  • ch1 at the end of each row does not count as a stitch
  • stitches contained within ** are the repeat section for that row
