Crochet Tutorial: Textured Oval Shell Stitch

The Textured Oval Shell Stitch is an advanced beginner crochet stitch that adds decorative appeal to projects. It makes a great border, or you can work it in rows. Crochet the Textured Oval Shell Stitch in a single color to create a beautiful texture or change colors from row to row for a more intricate design.

Row 1: Skip 3 ch, * 1tr/dc in each of next 3ch, skip 3ch, 3tr/dc + 1ch + 3tr/dc in next ch, skip 3ch, 1tr/dc in each of next 3ch; rep from *, 1tr/dc in last ch, turn.

Row 2: Make 3ch, skip first tr/dc, * 1BPtr/dc over each of next 3 st below, 2tr/dc + 1ch + 2tr/dc in space of 1ch of shell, 1BPtr/dc over each of next 3 st below, 1ch; rep from*, work 1tr/dc in third ch and turn.

Row 3: Make 4ch, * 1FPtr/dc over each of next 3 Pst below, 1ch, 1dc/sc in space of 1ch of shell, 1ch, 1FPtr/dc over each of next 3 Pst below, 3ch; rep from *, 1FPtr/dc over each of next 3 Pst below, 1ch, 1dc/sc in space of 1ch of shell, 1ch, 1FPtr/dc over each of next 3 Pst below, 2ch, 1tr/dc in second ch, turn.
