Crochet Basics: Stripe Stitch

Learning new crochet stitch is like a turning new page of the book of your crochet life. I’m bringing you all another stitch tutorial this week – beautiful Stripe Stitch.

It’s a really easy stitch to learn. Very beginner friendly. It makes for a light and breezy stitch. The stripe stitch is perfect for a light blanket, summer tops or fall scarves etc. It’s pretty versatile for whenever you want something a little breathable. It’s also one of those crochet stitches that look good from both sides, so it opens up a lot of design options.

Techniques used in this stitch (British term / American term):

Chain stitch – ch

Double crochet / Single crochet – dc/sc Treble / Double crochet – tr / dc

2 tr/dc decrease – 2dec

1tr/dc decrease – 1dec

Font Post dc/sc – FPdc/sc

Stitch – st

Post stitch  pst
