Tip 1.

Keep pet food in sealed containers such as big popcorn tins or small lidded trash cans, possibly with a bungee cord to secure the top if you have a wily pet.
Tip 2

Make a donation bin part of the landscape in your garage. Whenever you come across an item to donate, place it in the bin. When it gets full, it’s time for a trip to the thrift store.
Tip 3

Keep your home’s color palette handy by painting one end of a wooden tongue depressor each room’s color. Once dry, label each tongue depressor with the paint brand, color, and room. Drill a hole in the other end and attach to a binder ring to create on-the-go home color swatches.
Tip 4

Keep small amounts of touch-up paint on hand by storing it in baby food jars. Place a piece of plastic wrap between the lid and the paint to create a seal so it doesn’t dry out.
Tip 5

Repurpose a dresser by turning it into a workbench. The drawers can contain hardware and tools, and the top can be used as a workspace.
Tip 6.

If you have leftover paint, decant it into smaller cans from a home improvement store. Add new labels with the paint brand, color formula, date, and room. This takes a little extra work but will be worth it to reduce the amount of space needed for your paint collection. Plus this makes your paint supplies look much tidier and cohesive.
Tip 7.

Give plain old tools new life by dipping the handles in a plastic coating dip. Give all your tools this makeover and they’ll look like a brand new set.
Tip 8

Adhere heavy duty magnets to the side of a flashlight, and attach to your breaker panel. In case of a blown fuse or tripped circuit, you’ll know exactly where the flashlight is located and be able to easily see if you need to fix it.
Tip 9

Store small hardware such as nails and screws in bead organizers by size and category.
Tip 10

Attach a magnetic knife strip to the side of your workbench or the wall above and use it to hold drill bits.
