8 Smart Ways to Reuse Common Household Items

Every time I throw a used container in the trash, I feel like I am throwing away something that could be reused. However, most of the time I can not find a good scenario for reusing the container, so unfortunately I still throw a lot of it away. Until now. Discover some ingenious ways to reuse common items you find around the house. Instead of throwing them in the trash can next time, try one of these tips.
1. Coffee cans
The next time you think of throwing away coffee cans, try turning them into storage containers for the kitchen, bathroom or laundry room. They are perfect for flour or sugar in the kitchen and detergent and dryer sheets in the laundry room! Just stick pretty paper on the outside.
2. Cereal Bag
Most people would never think of storing an empty cereal bag, but it's actually super useful! Rinse it out and turn it into a piping bag for frosting. Just cut off the corner of the bag and start piping!
3. Mesh Bags
There are quite a few uses for the mesh bags that veggies or citrus come in. For instance, turn it into a scrubber by simply wadding it in a ball. Perfect for cleaning pots, pans, and countertops that have stuck-on food.
4. Butter paper wrapper
Most people have probably never thought twice about keeping the paper wrapper from their butter, but you should! Save the butter wrappers to use as burger patty separators. The buttery residue will prevent the paper from sticking to the ground meat.
5. Razor
Just because your disposable razor has gotten dull, doesn’t mean it belongs in the garbage quite yet. You can still use it to remove the pills off sweaters, hats, scarves, and more.
6. Egg cartons
They are absolutely perfect for organizing just about anything. Use one to organize jewelry, beads, nails and screws, office supplies, or any other small, loose item that you want to keep track of.
7. Tissue Box
Did you grab the last tissue out of the tissue box? Don’t toss that box in the recycling bin quite yet. You can transform it into a plastic bag dispenser under your sink. Simply stuff it full of plastic grocery bags and pull out when needed.
8. Paper Towel Rolls
After using the last piece of paper towel, hang on to the cardboard roll and use it to keep cords organized and untangled. Just wrap up the cord and place into the cardboard roll. You can even use a marker to label what it’s for.
These are some great ideas to reuse household items. It's a good ways to help the planet with less waste and trash in landfills. if everybody cared about the planet and reused and recycled to help save the earth it would be a better place to live for our children and grandchildren.
I use toilet paper rolls to hold scrap yarn. Just wrap the yard around the outside.
