Organize weekly wardrobe.

9 Childproofing Hacks That Will Keep Your Kids Safe and Happy

If your family spends mornings in chaos, this hack can rein it all in. A few minutes spent preparing for the week ahead can spell the difference between a peaceful morning or a mad dash. Help your little ones get themselves ready with confidence by laying out a week's worth of outfits on Sunday night. Use a hanging organizer, plastic drawers or even simple hooks. Label each outfit with a day of the week so your child knows what to wear and when. Starting the morning off by getting themselves dressed will set your kiddo up with confidence the rest of the day and take a load off of your mind. Bonus points if they put their dirty clothes in the laundry!
Tip: I always use this hack to organize my weekly outfits as well. Easy!

For little ones: make sharp edges safe.

Children love to grab and mouth every surface they can reach, making glass furniture a worry for parents. If you got some furniture with sharp edges and corners, just buy some foam pipe insulation at your local hardware store. Since this insulation is cushiony on the outside and sticky on the inside, all you have to do is cut it open and press it on for instant soft edges. These foam tubes are narrow enough to fit onto table edges easily, plus they come pre-sliced so they slide right on.

Homemade teething guard.

For babies who just love chomping on their crib railing, you can just make your own fabric teething guard at home out of fleece for a few dollars, instead of paying a lot for a store-bought teething guard.

Hangers on closet doorknobs.

Bi-fold closet doors can be tricky when it comes to baby-proofing, but this simple hack solves the problem. Simply place an inverted plastic clothing hanger over both knobs to keep little ones from opening, closing and pinching themselves.

Rubber bands for kitchen cabinets.

Kitchen cabinets are irresistible to babies, and if you have ones where the door knobs can be lassoed together, the solution could be as simple as a rubber band (or hair bands).

Shoe-in fun.

Littles are often excited to learn new self-care skills. They love to show us how grown up they are and how much they can do for themselves. Putting on shoes is a complicated skill. Forget tying them, first you have to get them on the correct feet. To help your little one remember which shoe goes on which foot simply cut a sticker in half. Place one half of the sticker in each shoe so they form a complete image when placed side by side. Your little one will be so proud to show you what a great job they did when they get it right on the first try.

Pool Noodle Door Stoppers.

Keep tiny fingers from getting smashed in doors with a pool noodle - just cut off a piece, then slit through to the center, then wedge onto the edge of your door.
7

Slip-proof Rugs.

To keep kids from slipping on rugs, get some rubber matting used to line cupboard shelves. Place under your carpets to keep them in place.

I have a new granddaughter, 4 months old. Her mother might need a refresher course in child proofing because her boys didn't spend their first years in this house.

I felt the same with my second child, as I wanted to refresh my knowledge. Well, I can recommend an awesome book — “How To Childproof Your Home” by Louie Delaware. I found it very informative. The book answers a lot of questions on childproofing. It helped me a lot!
