Adorable Strawberry Crochet Stitch

Hello, my dear crocheters! Summer is here, and today we are going to learn a cute strawberry stitch, that looks amazing with classic red and green strawberry colors. Of course, you can choose any color combination, which would look great, too. Once you know how to crochet the strawberry stitch, you can make outfits, shoes, gloves, hats, and more with this adorable pattern. The strawberry stitch creates an adorable look and makes any project more appealing to the eye. It looks great in various crochet project and looks even more amazing when used to make a blanket, decorations, granny squares or even crochet handbags!

Abbreviations:

ch = chain
st(s) = stitch(es)
hdc = half double crochet
sc = single crochet
hdc5tog = half double crochet 5 together (see special stitches section below)
yo = yarn over

Special Stitches:

Half Double Crochet 5 Together (hdc5tog): *yo, insert hook into next st, yo, pull up a loop,* repeat between * * 4 times (11 loops on hook), yo, pull through all loops on hook.

Multiples: Stitch is worked in multiples of 3 + 1 for foundation chain

Instructions

Row 1:

With Color A, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch to end. Turn

Row 2:

Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st (change to Color B at the end of this st and carry Color A), *5 hdc in next st, change to Color A on the 5th hdc), 1 hdc in the next 2 sts (change to Color B at the end of last st),* repeat between * * to last 2 st, 5 hdc in next st with Color B, 1 hdc in last st with Color A. Turn.

Row 3:

With Color A, ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, *1 hdc5tog, 1 hdc in next 2 st,* repeat between * * to last 6 st, 1 hdc5tog over next 5 st, 1 hdc in last st. Turn. 

Row 4:

With Color A, ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next st (change to Color B at the end of this st and carry Color A), *5 hdc in next st with Color B, 1 hdc in next 2 sts with Color A,* repeat between * * to last st, 1 hdc in last st. Turn.

Row 5:

ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next 2 st, *1 hdc5tog, 1 hdc in next 2 st,* repeat between * * end. Turn.

Continue repeating rows 2 – 5 to size desired in pattern.
