Notes
This stitch is worked in rows in this tutorial and it may be worked in one colour or many. I will be working this pattern in a single colour.
The turning ch-1 does not count as a stitch.
The turning ch-3 counts as a double crochet stitch.
To begin, make a slip knot and make a foundation chain. For this stitch pattern, you will need a foundation chain with a multiple of 3 stitches, plus 2. For example, ch 32.
Instructions
Row One
Sc into the 2nd ch from your hook, *ch 2, sk the next 2 sts, sc in the next st; Rpt from * across. Ch 3, turn.
Row Two
3 dc in the 1st ch-2 sp, sk the next sc, *3 dc in the next ch-2 sp, sk the next sc; rpt from * across, dc in the final sc st. Ch 3, turn.
Row Three
Sk the 1st 4 dc sts, *puff in the next sp between the next 2 dc, ch 1, sk the previous 3 dc stitches and puff in the next sp between the last 2 sts, sk the next 3 dc sts; Rpt from * across (Note: When working the puff stitch in the previous sp from now on, that sp will be the same space as the previous crossed st), ending with a dc in the top of the turning ch. Ch 3, turn.
Row Four
3 dc in the 1st ch-1 sp, *3 dc in the next ch-1 sp; Rpt from * across to the final st, dc in the top of the turning ch. Ch 3 turn.
And that’s it!
For the rest of the pattern simply repeat rows 3 and 4 for the pattern. Fasten off, weave in your ends.
