How to Crochet the Carousel Stitch Photo Tutorial

The Carousel Stitch crochet pattern is a wonderful stitch pattern featuring a variety of textured crochet stitches.
If you enjoyed working the Gridlock Stitch crochet pattern, you’ll want to try this modification!
Instead of working a row of yarn over slip stitches I have swapped them out for some fun bobble stitches.
The pattern is therefore just a little more thick and dense.
You will want to take this into consideration when using it in a project, opting for one that doesn’t require a lot of drape.

Notes
- This stitch is worked in rows in this tutorial and it may be worked in one colour or many. I will be working this pattern in two colours labelled A and B.
Instructions
To begin, with colour A, make a slip knot and make a foundation chain. For this stitch, you will need an even number of stitches for your foundation chain. For example, with colour A, ch 30.
Row One: Sc in the 2nd ch from your hook and in each st across. Ch 1, turn.
Row Two: Sc in the 1st st, *bobble in the next st, sc in the next st; *Rpt from * across. Ch 1, turn.
Row Three: Sc in the 1st st and in each st across. Ch 1, turn.
Row Four: Working under the Flo, sc in the 1st st and in each st across. Change to colour B. Ch 1, turn.
Row Five: Sc in the 1st st, *dc in the flo of the next st 2 rows below, sc in the next st of the previous row; Rpt from * across. Ch 1, turn.
Row Six: Sc in the 1st st and in each st across. Change to colour A. Ch 1, turn.
Row Seven: Sc in each of the 1st 2 sts, *tr in the flo of the next st 4 rows below pulling the tr up to the height of your sc st, sc in the next st; Rpt from * across, sc in each of the final 2 sts. Ch 1, turn.
And that’s it!
For the rest of the pattern, simply repeat rows 2-7. Fasten off, weave in your ends.
