Crochet Bell Flower Bag Charm Tutorial

I’m sharing my latest crochet pattern, the Bell Flower Bag Charm!

This is such a quick and easy pattern that’s perfect for adding a little handmade touch to your bag.

I used Aran yarn which works up fast making this a wonderful way to use any scrap yarn you have waiting for a project.

This pattern is fantastic for beginners who want to try a small project.

It’s also great for anyone looking to make quick items to sell for markets or fairs.

You can use this flower to decorate your bags and backpacks, or even use it as a hanging decoration in your room.

It would also make a beautiful and unique Christmas tree ornament!

Intsructions

The Flower

With light blue yarn

Round 1: 6sc in the magic ring, pull the tail to close the ring = 6

Round 2: 2 sc in each sc x 6 = 12

Rounds 3 to 6: sc in each sc for each round, sl st to close the round = 12

Round 7: ch 1 (doesn’t count as a stitch), * (sc, 2hdc, sc), sk 1 * × 6, sl st to close the round = 24

Fasten off and weave in the end.

Leave the magic ring unwoven, we will use it to attach the stem.

The Leaves

With green, ch 17

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc, dc, (2dc), dc, hdc, sc, sl st in next 2chs, sc, hdc, dc, (2dc), dc, hdc, (3sc) in last ch, turn your work around with the bottom up so you can work on the other side of the chain, and continue from there, hdc, dc, (2 dc), dc, hdc, sc, sl st in next 2 chs, sc, hdc, dc, (2dc), dc, hdc, (2sc) in the last chain, sl st into the first sc you made in the round to close it = 38

Fasten off and weave in all ends.

The Stem

With green and a 4.5mm hook, make a sl knot.

Row 1: ch40, fasten off, leave both ends unwoven = 30

How to Assemble

Pull the stem ends through the slip stitches of the leaf one end through one slip stitch. If you thread both ends through just one slip stitch, the leaf will slide off the stem.

Once done, use a needle to pull the yarn end from the stem through the magic ring of one bell flower.

Once through, tie it together with the magic ring tail, to make a double knot and secure the bell flower to the stem.

Cut the ends shorter or weave them in.

Do the same on the other bell flower.
