Instructions

Make an even number of chain stitch.

Row 1: *2 double crochets, skip two stitches, chain 2* repeat this pattern until the end of the row. You’ll end with 2 double crochets.

Row 2: Turn, and use another yarn color. Chain 2, then double crochet in the nearest chain stitch in the previous row. Make another double crochet in the chain stitch from the previous row. * Skip the next 2 chain stitches, chain 2, and make another double crochet in the next two chain stitches. * Repeat this pattern across the row, and make a double crochet in the final stitch. Turn work.

Row 3: Chain 2. Make a double crochet on top of each stitch (stitches from Row 1) in the gap. * Chain 2, skip the next two stitches, and double crochet on top of each stitch (stitches from Row 1) in the gap. * Repeat this pattern until the end of the row. You’ll end the row with Chain 2, and a double crochet on the last stitch.

Row 4: Turn your work. Chain two. *Make a double crochet on top of the stitches on the gap (stitches from Row 2), skip 2 stitches, chain 2. * Repeat this pattern until the end of the row. Finish the row with a double crochet on the final stitch of the previous row.

Repeat Row 3 and Row 4 until you get your desired length.
