  • 2.0 mm hook

Instructions

Row 1

1. Start by chaining a multiple of four plus three. You will start working in the fourth chain from your hook.

2. So, make a double crochet in the fourth chain from your hook.

3. Continue making double crochets in every stitch until the end of the row.

Row 2

4. Chain three and turn your work around. Chain three counts as a stitch.

5. Make a double crochet in the third stitch of the previous row.

6. Make a double crochet in the next stitch.

7. Next you will make a front post double crochet working in the second stitch. So, yarn over.

8. Insert your hook bringing the post of the second stitch to the front.

9. Yarn over.

10. Pull the yarn through. Make sure to make a bit taller loop than usual. Now you have three loops on your hook.

11. Yarn over.

12. Pull the yarn through the first two loops. Now you have two loops on your hook.

13. Yarn over and pull the yarn through both loops. You have just made a front post double crochet.

14. Make a double crochet in the next stitch.

15. Then repeat. Skip one stitch and make two double crochets in the next two stitches.

16. Make a front post double crochet working in the stitch that you have just skipped.

17. Make a double crochet in the next stitch.

18. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

19. At the end of the row make the last double crochet in the turning chain.

Row 3

20. Chain three and turn your work around. Chain three counts as a stitch.

21. Make a front post double crochet in the second stitch. At first it might seem tricky to grab that post that is popping out on the other side.

22. Continue making front post double crochets until the end of the row.

23. At the end of the row make the last double crochet in the turning chain. For the rest of the pattern repeat rows 2-3.
