Textured Single Crochet: Back + Front Loop Single Crochet

The Textured Single Crochet is one of my absolute favorite alterations of the single crochet stitch.
It gives texture without making things complex.
Personally I also feel I get into a flow when using this stitch, which makes it relaxing.

Materials
- Crochet hook: 6 mm / US: J – 10 / UK: 4
- 4 Medium Yarn (Lion Brand Yarn – 24/7 Cotton)
Abbreviations
- ch = chain(s)
- BLsc = back loop single crochet
- FLsc = front loop single crochet
- sc = single crochet
- st = stitch(es)
Notes
- This pattern is a stitch multiple of 2 stitches. Add 1 for base chain.
Instructions
Ch a multiple of 2 + 1 for base chain. Sc 1 in 3rd ch from hook, sc 1 in each ch, turn.
Ch 1, *BLsc 1 in next st, FLsc 1 in next st*, repeat from *to* until you have 1 st left, sc 1 in next st, turn.
Repeat row 2 until project is desired size.
