Instructions

Before learning how to make this stitch, you have to learn first how to make a shamrock. Make sure you understand this pattern since it will be used throughout the tutorial!

Make a shamrock

Chain 4, and slip stitch in the fourth chain from the hook. Chain 4, then slip stitch in 4th chain from the hook.

Ch 4, * sc in the chain 4 ring, and ch 3.* Repeat this two times, and sc in the ring.

1 sc, 6dc, and 1 sc in each of the chain 3 spaces.

Shamrock Stitch Pattern

To start making this stitch, first you should make a foundation chain in multiples of 15 + 7

Row 1: Skip 5 chain. * 1 triple crochet (tr) in the next chain, make chain (ch) 6, then skip (sk) 5 chains. Double crochet (dc) in the next chain, chain 4, skip 2 chains. 1 single crochet (sc) in the next chain, chain 6, then skip 5 chains. Repeat this pattern until the end of the row. Make 1 tr in the next 2 chains. Turn your work.

Row 2: Make 2 ch. 1 sc in second tr below. * ch 2, make 4 dc in the ch6 space from the row below. Ch 3, 1 sc in the 4ch space from the row below. Make a shamrock. Sc in the same 4ch space. Ch3, 4dc in the ch6 space. Ch 2, sc in tr from the row below. * Continue this pattern.

Sc in the fifth chain and turn.

Row 3: Ch5, tr in the second stitch, and ch3. * sc in the first dc from the row below. Ch6, sc in the fourth dc of the middle part of the shamrock. Ch6. In the next set of dc on the ch6 space, sc in the 4th dc. Ch4. * Repeat this pattern. On the last repeat, the last chain should be a ch3 instead of a ch4. Tr in the sc from the row below. Tr in the second chain and turn.

Row 4: Ch2, sc in the second tr from the previous row. Ch3. * 4dc in the ch6 space, ch2. Sc in the sc from the previous row, ch2. 4dc in next ch6 space, ch3. Sc in the ch4 space. Make a shamrock. Sc in the same ch4 space, ch3. * Repeat this pattern.

Row 6:Ch2, sc in the tr from the previous row. * ch2, 4dc in ch6 space. Ch3, sc in ch4 space. Make a shamrock. Sc in the same ch4 space. Ch3, 4d in the ch6 space. Ch2, sc in sc the from the previous row. * Repeat this pattern.

To finish the row, instead of making an sc in the sc from the previous row, make an sc in the tr from the previous row. Sc in the fifth chain. Turn.
