The Long Wave Stitch pattern is beginner-friendly and works up fast using only basic stitches such as single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, and treble stitches.
The pattern is double-sided meaning it looks great on either side and so, can be used in a variety of projects, from blankets and garments to accessories and toys.

Special Stitches
SC/HDC/DC/TR Back Loop Only
A stitch has a front and back loop that meets at one end and looks like a horizontal V. To crochet in the back loop only, insert the hook in the middle of the V from the top and under the back loop (the loop that is away from you), yo and draw a loop (you will have 2 loops on the hook). From this point on, continue to crochet the stitch you want as usual.
First Treble In The Row
sc in the first stitch, ch3. Compared to the usual method of crocheting a treble in the first row (ch4), this method of constructing it will eliminate the gap that usually occurs.
Notes
The pattern is a repeat of two rows and requires multiples of 14 + 4 chains, my starting chain is 32chs long.
