STITCHES USED IN RIB STITCH CROCHET

To make this rib stitch pattern you need the following stitches and abbreviations:

Slip Knot

Use the crochet hook to draw the yarn through the loop and pull the loop until tight

Chain (CH)

Wrap the yarn over the hook from back to front.

Pull the hook with the yarn, through the loop that is on your hook

Yarn Over Slip Stitch (YO SL ST)

Yarn over the working strand. Insert the hook in the next stitch and yarn over again. Pull the yarn through the 2 loops on the hook

Yarn Over Slip Stitch Back loop only (YO SL ST BLO)

Yarn over the working strand. Insert the hook in the back loop only of the next stitch, and yarn over again. Pull the yarn through the 2 loops on the hook

HOW TO CROCHET RIB STITCH

Follow the stitch pattern descriptions below to crochet the rib stitch:

Foundation Make a slip knot and chain any number of stitches you like

Row 1: Insert hook in 2nd CH from hook, YO SL ST in each stitch all the way across the chain. CH 1 and turn

Row 2: YO SL ST BLO in every stitch all the way across the row, CH 1, and turn

Repeat Row 2 as many times as you like for your swatch. The right side and wrong side of this swatch are the same.
