TOOLS

  • Scissors
  • Needle

MATERIAL

  • You can use some scrap yarn or 1 skein of yarn.

STITCHES USED IN COUNTERPANE STITCH

To make the counterpane stitch pattern you need the following stitches and abbreviations:

Slip Knot

Use the crochet hook to draw the yarn through the loop and pull the loop until tight

Chain (CH)

Wrap the yarn over the hook from back to front.

Pull the hook with the yarn, through the loop that is on your hook

Single Crochet (SC)

Start with one loop on your hook

Slide the hook in the chain stitch. Wrap the yarn under the hook and pull the yarn through the chain stitch.

You now have 2 loops on the hook. Wrap the yarn under the hook and draw it through both loops on the hook

Skip (SK)

Skip 1 stitch before inserting the hook in the next stitch
