Dash Stitch Crochet Pattern

The Dash Stitch is a beautiful lightly textured crochet stitch for blankets.

The dash stitch is a fun stitch creating a little texture that looks (to me) like vertical dashed lines. The backside looks nearly like plain single crochet fabric.

It is therefore a great stitch for projects such as blankets, cozy winter garments and accessories. I can easily imagine it for snuggly winter mittens for example.

Size

The patterns are written for a 15cm by 15cm / 6” by 6” square.

Abbreviations

  • st = stitch
  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • fpdc = front post double crochet

Stitch Multiple

The pattern needs a multiple of 4 + 3 number of stitches; your starting chain will be a multiple of 4 + 4 for an extra turning chain.

The gauge for this pattern is 15 st by 17.5 rows in stitch pattern for a 10 cm by 10 cm square (4” by 4”).
